Common Core. It can seem a bit overwhelming. Maybe even a bit scary. It is definitely different and demanding yet it has many strengths. Let's look at the Common Core through a new light. The Common Core has great purpose as it develops students thinking- rather than just mere ability. It requires them to justify with evidence, explain their thinking, and produce work at their level of understanding- proving that they are proficient. It asks them to research and argue (with evidence) their reasons of opinion.
